Captivating 1960s Authentic Handmade Vintage Persian Gorg-Heydari
Handmade Mid-20th C. Vintage Persian Gorg-Heydari Rug. Made of all natural, vegetable dye, hand woven, hand spun, baby lamb's wooll pile on cotton foundation. Gorg-Heydar is a little known village and it produces some of the most unusual pieces in the rug industry. Gorg-Heydar is located in western part of Iran in the Niabaraan Region. These rugs usually feature a central medallion with flowers and twigs in the background. Also, a distinct character of Gorg-Heydari rugs is their captivating sheen, due to the fine shiny baby lamb's wool used. Please notice the lovely shade of royal blue in this piece, which is the signature color for Gorg-Heydaris. Creases are due to fold and not a defect.
