Huge! Pendant cut! Untreated! 13.55ct violet red Winza Ruby!
This is an incredible find. It starts with a violet red pigeons blood hue. Add to that a shimmering silver sheen that presents during movement. And do you know where that sheen comes from? Actual silver in the gemstone. Over millions of years, this ruby's development included a mineral called proustite, which is a silver containing mineral that gives it this remarkable attribute. And because of the strong chromium content, (the mineral that gives rubies their red color) the silver shimmer is touched with pink and violet! And it's all natural! And covering this whole unique display is a premium polished luster that reflects light off of every facet creating a twinkling effect. Finally, we have the cut of the ruby. The strong saturation and semi transparency of this piece allowed the gem cutter to give it a pendant cut without losing any color, creating a larger surface area and giving it the illusion of being a much larger gemstone. It measures an impressive 20.7mm x 15.3mm x 5mm! And with a Mohs hardness rating of 9 out of 10, this heirloom quality ruby is perfect for daily wear now, and for generations to come. Sourced from Winza, Tanzania. Untreated!!!
