Edition Cercle d'Art, Paris, 1961. Text by Luis Miguel Dominguín with an essay by Georges Boudaille. This is copy 44 of 150 copies of the Deluxe edition. The complete set includes the book, an original pictorial cloth portfolio featuring an original lithograph signed in pencil by Picasso, and a suite of 16 color drawings reproduced on Arches wove paper. All items are housed in the original clam-shell box. The book is bound in pictorial hardcover, with a facsimile reproduction of Picasso's handwritten title page. It is illustrated with drawings, washes, and sketches from three notebooks Picasso created specifically for this edition, printed in vivid color on thick paper. The original lithograph on Arches wove, dated 7.2.61 in the plate and signed in pencil by Picasso, along with the suite of 16 color prints on Arches wove are all contained in a Bordeaux cloth portfolio, decorated with a drawing reproduced on both the front and back covers.
