Cut from pure Madagascar ruby, these 18 gems exhibit a rich violet red hue tempered with pink undertone and strong saturation. They are well matched in size measuring approximately 6.3mm x 4.3mm each, and exhibit glistening lusters. They have a Mohs hardness rating of 9 out of 10, making them perfect for setting and daily wear. This ruby set was heat treated, evident by the presence of lead bearing glass that is a standard treatment with most commercial rubies.
