Item is in excellent condition and has only been displayed in a gallery setting. Item includes frame; framed dimensions are approximately 39 x 42 inches. Oleg Ardimasov was born on July 24, 1936 in the village of Lermontovka, in the Khabarovsk region of Russia. As a young artist, Oleg studied visual arts under Anfisa Burkova. After nine years of training, he entered the Irkutsk Art School in 1953. There he studied under artistic talents Alexander Savinykh, Alexey Zhibinov, Arkady Vychugzhanin. This schooling gave Oleg a strong foundation in in drawing, painting and composition. In 1958, Oleg was accepted to Surikov Art Institute in Moscow where he studied with famous teachers and artists such as Michael Aleksich, Peter Suvorov, Mikhail Matorin, Yuri Rayner, Mikhail Cheremnykh, Eugene Kibrik, Valery Skuridin, Nikolai Ponomarev, Oleg Savostyuk, Boris Uspensky, Boris Dekhterev. After graduation from the institute and graduate school, Oleg passed along his artistic skill by teaching at the institute. Throughout his stint as a teacher from 1973 ? 2001, Oleg held the positions of Dean of Graphics, Graphics Chair and Dean of Academic Affairs. Currently, he is a Professor of Drawing, Studio Theater and Fine Art. The works of Oleg Ardimasov can be found in the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow along with many private collections in Russia, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, England, the United States, Canada, Italy, Switzerland, France, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea. To honor his successful and creative works, Oleg was awarded a Diploma and Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, and Diplomas of the Union of Artists of Russia.

This painting is in excellent condition and has only been shown in a gallery setting.  The dimensions do not include the frame.  Torres Aleu was born in Cadiz, Spain and began to paint at the age of five.  In 1952 his talent was recognized by family members and he began his formal training in art.  During his education and training, he studied under the Spanish professor, Mr. Francisco Prieto, a Gold National Medal Landscape Artist.  Aleu began painting professionally when he completed his school training in 1960.  Since this time he has exhibited in galleries, including Galeries Des Verges, Switzerland, in 1991 and 1992, Galerie Castegliani, Roma, Italy, in 1993, Galerie Soria, Chateauroux, France, in 1995, and Galerie Hispaluz, Concepcion, Chile in 1996 and 1997.  Awards received by Aleu include Premio Provincial De Cadiz, Cadiz, in 1957, Premio Nacional De San Fernando, Cadiz, in 1972 and Premio Caga De Ahorros De Jerez, Cadiz in 1973. The Public library in San Fernando, Cadiz and the County Council Office in Cadiz display Aleu’s work.  Torres Aleu’s art is included in private collections throughout Japan, Saudi Arabia, Holland, and the United States.  A list of collectors includes Prince Fahd Bin Salman Bi Abhulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia and other important business people throughout the world. Publications that featured this artist include: Mirador de San Fernando Newspaper, 1975 The ABC Newspaper, Sevilla, 1977. Aleu is also featured in the Arte Guis, an artists’ reference book, which was published in Madrid in 1982.

This painting is in excellent condition and has only been shown in a gallery setting.  By infusing his works with elements of portraiture, the surreal, and the classical, Jose Borrell redefines conventional figurative painting. Borrell says, “The majority of my works are feminine nudes through which I would like to transmit the calm, love, and passion that fills each of my model’s lives.” Each painting is a multidimensional scene that contemplates the role of the nude. Deft manipulation of light and shadow highlights the inherent beauty of the human form. The sensuous, soft lines of his figures are paired with chimerical and surreal surroundings, causing a blurred division between reality and fantasy. The viewer is transported to a dreamlike setting where art and life merge. In this liminal space, the boundaries between the subject and viewer dissolve. The effect, in turn, is the realization that the body is not only a measure of physical human beauty, reiterated by the aesthetic values of the painting, but a vessel useful for expressing greater human emotions and ideas that transcend form. While having attended renowned art schools in Spain, including the Fine Arts School of Alcoy and at the Superior School of Saint Carlos of Valencia, Borrell is mainly a self-taught artist. He notes his mentorship under artist Paco Egea as key to the development of his skills in drawing and painting. Borrell designates Spanish artists Joaquín Sorolla and Salvador Dalí as his greatest inspirations; the influence of these artists is evident in his works, given his particular attention to light and fantasy.
