Retro-Modern Men's Elgin Direct Read Golf Ball Manual Watch

Coveted by collectors and golfers alike, this watch is commonly labelled as the Elgin Golf Ball. Elgin produced it from 1957-1962 and catalogued it as their Direct Reading 9587, one of the world's first digital readout watches. The manually-wound, caliber 717 movement spins on 17 jewels, and it has a unique "jump hour" feature that snaps forward to each successive hour. Its golf ball motif case has a rolled gold plate (RGP) bezel and stainless steel back. It is listed as water, shock, and dust proof as well as anti-magnetic. It is in the very good to excellent condition shown, with only slight wear. The replacement leather band is new. This freshly serviced watch is in good working order and weighs 30.8 grams.
