This is an original 1976 offset lithograph titled “Flying Colors of the United States / The Bicentennial Plane” by Alexander Calder. This reproduction of Calder’s gouache was published in 1976 as a commemoration of the bicentennial plane Calder decorated for Braniff Airlines, and which was christened by Betty Ford. Calder died in 1976 and this is one of his final projects. This is a commemorative work done from Calder thanking Braniff employees and associates for the opportunity. It was not sold in stores and was only available to those in the Braniff network. Measures 23″ x 33″. Facsimile signed and dated within the matrix. In nice condition. Comes unframed.
