Fantastic 60-Hour RRG GF Pocket Watch by Illinois

This handsome gold-filled timepiece is by Illinois Watch, serial number 5577237. It is grade 161A, variation type IIP 60 hr. (motor) Elinvar (hairspring), and model 15. This c. 1944 pocket watch is the culmination of escalating railroad regulations. The railroad grade "Bunn Special" is named after John W. Bunn, one of the founders of the company, and his signature is engraved on the movements of all Bunn Special watches. The size 16s, lever-set, 21 jewel, railroad grade movement is adjusted to six positions and for temperature. Its double roller escapement and 60-hour motor ensures reliable timekeeping, even a partial wind. Its dial and crystal are pristine, and the case has the minor wear shown.
