Extremely Rare 18th Century Burmese Reclining Buddha Statue. A Bold And Beautiful Piece Of South East Asian History. This Statue Represents The Time When Buddha Conquers The Devil And Evil Forces. Buddha Laid Down And Created An Illusion Of Growing Bigger And Bigger Until He Became The Size Of A Giant. His Enormous Size Scares The Devil And All Evil Forces Back Into The Earth.   This Pose Is Also Interpreted As Buddha Is Giving His Last Sermon Before Death. Period: 18th Century Origin: Burma (Modern Day Myanmar), Material: Alabaster Marble, Measurements: Approximately 22.5 L X 11 H X 6.5 D Inches, Weight 22 Pounds. Museum Mounted.
