Item has only been viewed in gallery setting and is in excellent condition. Oil on board. Antonio Garcia Soler was born on the eastern coast of Spain in Alcoy, Alicante in 1957. Initially inspired by the light and colors of the Mediterranean coasts, Soler pursued a career in art by attending the art school Escuela Municipal de Bellas Artes at a young age. He continued his education at the Escuela de Artes y Oficios at the Universidad de Valencia, from which he acquired an art degree.
Soler considers his technique so be somewhere between Realism and Hyperrealism. He cites his artistic inspirations to come from artists such as Velazquez, El Greco, and Picasso. He respects and emulates Velazquez’s ability to capture the essence of his subjects and his use of colors and atmosphere to enhance the artistic significance of the works. Thus, Soler aims to dominate the light, the air, and the reflections in his work in order to create a contemplative, atmospheric mystique of nature in each of his works. He can play with the fierceness of the sea or the tranquility of the sunset. The technique and chromatic palette of his works take the viewer to remote places of imagination, provoking vivid memories.
