This is a limited edition signed offset lithograph by famed American artist Norman Rockwell titled “Marriage License”. This Norman Rockwell work of art was originally an oil painting done for The Saturday Evening Post on June 11, 1955. Set in the actual town clerk’s office just footsteps away from Rockwell’s first Stockbridge studio on Main Street, the couple featured in this beloved illustration were actually engaged at the time, and were still married until their deaths. This authorized reproduction bears a printed signature by Norman Rockwell that looks like it was hand signed. If this lithograph was hand signed by Rockwell, it would be worth about $10,000. Published in 1978. This subject is numbered from a limited edition of 2500. Paper measures 33″ x 25″. Image measures 23″ x 21″. In excellent condition. Comes unframed.
