Enchanting 9.2ct red Fire Opal nugget

This is a great piece. It has a rich, firey red opal crystal still paired with natural matrix with a well polished luster. Since opals are organic and have lighter density than other gems, they have a greater size to weight ratio giving them more more surface for their carat weight. This large example measures 17mm x 14mm x 9mm, and was sourced from Mexico. Heated only.
