About As Early a Coin In Existence Lucania, Metapontum c. 470-440 BC. Silver Stater (7.71g) Obv barley ear Reverse obverse type incuse. Ch XF Strike 5/5 and Surface 3/5. In NGC holder. Almost 2500 years old. About as early as they come. They had not mastered striking on 2 sides yet Lots of luster Not sure why it wouldnt be AU. No real wear seen.
