Handmade semi antique Persian Bakhtiari rug. Size 6.0x6.10 feet, made of fine quality lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation, all natural vegetable dye, incorporating a finely detailed floral pattern on an Ivory background and contrasted beautifully with an intricate floral border. Hand woven by Bakhtiari nomadic tribes of western Iran. The approximate year of origin: 1975-1985. Bakhtiari is an ancient southwestern Iranian tribe. Bakhtiaris were nomaidc pastoralists and weaving rugs was and still is a unique way of expression and telling stories.
