Size 10.1x3.7 feet, this beautiful piece is made of fine quality baby lamb's wool pile on cotton foundation, all natural vegetable dye, incorporating a magnificently detailed geometric pattern on an abrash red background, a center row of four geometric medallions and contrasted nicely with an intricate geometric border. Hand woven in Bakhtiar, Iran. Bakhtiari is an ancient southwestern Iranian tribe. Bakhtiaris were Nomaidc pastoralists and weaving rugs was and still is a unique way of expression and telling stories.
