1827 Coronet Head Large Cent, also known as the Matron Head Large Cent, is a classic early American copper issue struck by the United States Mint. Designed by Robert Scot, this iconic large cent features Liberty facing left wearing a coronet inscribed “LIBERTY,” surrounded by thirteen stars representing the original colonies. The reverse displays the denomination “ONE CENT” within a detailed laurel wreath.
