This sapphire shows touches of proustite, a mineral containing real silver that develops naturally with select sapphires and rubies that gives them a silver metallic sheen. But unlike other sapphires, the proustite in this piece is located a little deeper under its surface, so the natural color of the sapphire influences its silvery display, giving you metallic blue when the piece is tilted. The effect is really cool, and a bit uncommon. And it sits against a silky blue black hue that is fully opaque, so the effect stands out even more! Like we said, really cool. It has a classic oval cut with a premium polished luster, and measures 9mm x 7.4mm x 4.3mm with a Mohs hardness rating of 9 out of 10. This makes it perfect for both setting, and daily wear.
