Wow! 8.93ct UNTREATED red violet Ruby from Guinea with proustite!
We're not sure if we've ever offered a proustite bearing ruby sourced from Guinea before! We probably haven't, as Guinea rubies with proustite are not as common as they are from Tanzania and Mozambique, and you can really tell in the way it shimmers. The silvery sheen in this piece is more of a light accent, instead of a dominating feature like it is in rubies and sapphires from other regions, making this a very unique gemstone. Proustite is a mineral that forms naturally with select ruby and sapphire crystals during there development that contains real silver, causing a beautiful silver sheen and usually highlighting the growth patterns of these gems. But the uncommon addition of proustite is not all that this ruby has to offer. Just look at its color! This piece shows a phenomenal red violet hue with strong color saturation, and a fully opaque body for maximum color stability. It has a gorgeous cushion cut measuring an impressive 13.2mm x 10.3mm x 6.3mm with fantastic symmetry, and every facet glistens under its superior luster. And the best part of all, this ruby is UNTREATED!!!
