This is because Mali garnets are actually the combination of two rare garnet gem types, andradite garnet (demantoid) and grossular (tsavorite) that have developed together creating a totally new garnet subset. It was then named for the region it was discovered in, Mali. This example features a rich imperial hue with glittering red amber flashing that shifts to golden amber in different lighting, and every sparkle is captured in premium VVS clarity. It has a classic oval shape with tight faceting, and a superior luster that shimmers over its entire body. This piece measures 6.8mm x 6.2mm x 4mm, and is all natural with no treatments.
