This piece was sourced from Mozambique, and the diversity of the ruby crystals in that country is simply amazing. This unique example features a rich violet hue with a semi-translucent body and strong saturation. But when held to the light you can see nuances of red in its undertone and natural crystal striations from its growth over millions of years. It has a super low profile cut with amazing size measuring 30.3mm x 19.5mm x 4.3mm, and a wide faceted table that creates ample room for its superior luster to dance across. The bottom of the ruby is cabochon cut, adding to its fantastic color retention with such a thin profile. This is an all natural untreated example.
