Look closer, and you'll see that the darker blue color comes from striations in the gem! It gets its color from iron and titanium, the minerals that give sapphires their blue color. But unlike regular sapphires, these minerals didn't saturate the entire crystal. Instead, they wove their way through it, creating not only one of the most bespoke natural sapphires you've ever seen, but also a fantastic geological find.
