This sapphire is large, and this sapphire is definitely in charge. It has a silky black hue with liquid golden highlights, and a beautifully opaque body. The real star of this show, ( no pun intended ) is its amazing star patterns. With its low domed cabochon cut and glistening superior luster, this gem produces crisp 6 point floating stars that reflect from almost every light source, and has been observed to have as many as 4 different star patterns. It measures a very impressive 16.4mm x 13.6mm x 6.4mm, and has a Mohs hardness rating of 9 out of 10. Sourced from Thailand. Heated only.
