This highly collectible rare original watercolor on drawing paper is by the Russian master Korneev Leonid Yakovlevich and was acquired and guaranteed to come from his estate sale. These works are important as the sketches and drawings represented the cornerstone for his later works in watercolors and oil paintings. These are vintage artworks dating from the 1960-2000 and as such may have tear or small imperfections. Korneev Leonid Yakovlevich was born on May 15, 1922 in Kirovograd. In 1940, leonid was drafted into the Soviet army where he served in the navy of the USSR. In 1942 he received his military education at St Nicholas Naval Aviation school and remained in military service until 1956. In 1956 Korneev entered the Kiev State Art Institute, first in architecture then the art department, from which he graduated in 1963 with a degree as an art teacher of drawing and drawing and art education methodologist. In 1963-1965 he taught at the Kirovograd State Pedagogical Institute. Back in kirovograd, from 1967 to 1982 he worked in the art fund in Kirovograd and then in the 1990s, the artist taught in Kirovograd State Pedagogical Institute named after Pushkin. Leonid participated in regional and national art exhibitions. In 2002, the walls of the Kirovograd Regional Art Museum held a commemorative exhibition of Korneev dedicated to his 80th birthday. Leonid continued to draw and paint until his passing on April 10, 2009. NOTE: existing tear at the top left side.
