The malaya garnet gets its name from the word "malaia", which is Swahili for "out of family" due to its unique color and mineral attributes. This stunning example features a golden imperial hue with rich saturation. It has a classic emerald cut giving it brilliant linear flashing, and is covered by a vitreous luster. The rare color palette of this gem combined with its cut and size makes this highly unique garnet a must for collectors and connoisseurs. It measures 7.5mm x 5.5mm x 3.6mm, and is unheated. Sourced from Madagascar.
