This piece is a fabulous depiction of the unity of man with animals. It features a cowboy fully adorned in frontier pants, cowboy boots,a vest, a bandanna, and a bull hide hat. He reads a book while seated on the ledge of a cliff while his horse loyally stands by his side, so close that it appears that the creature is partaking in the words on the pages. This piece is full of tiny aspects that when compiled, create a highly authentic creation. This can be seen in details like the rope tied to the horse?s saddle, the cascading of the creatures mane and tail, the construction of the cowboy?s face, and the beautiful manner in which the staggering rocks of the cliff on which both subjects are seated create a true sense of space and atmosphere.
